PROJECT DANCE AND MORE PRESENTS
SHAPE: CHOREOGRAPHY & TECHNIQUE INTENSIVE
This June, New York City and Los Angeles are coming to Herriman, Utah for a four day intensive like no other! Focusing on technique, choreography, and rep this experience is meant to be a summer dance boot camp for all! This staff is out of this world including LAUREN FRODERMAN, So You Think You Can Dance Winner, and three renowned New York City teacher Julie Carter, Audra Bryant, and Eric Lehn. This experience is split up into an AM Session (for intermediate/advanced dancers of all ages) and a PM Session (for beginner, intermediate, and advanced dancers of all ages).
At the end we'll hold two Family Showcases (one for the AM Session and one for the PM Session) where dancers will perform original choreography fro the Scholarships will be given out to dancers to attend PHOENIX FIRE 2018 (August 12th - August 18th 2018) in New York City and Golden Tickets will be award to our newest intensive, by invitation only, FOCUS in Los Angeles for commercial dance. This experience is going to be F-I-R-E and we cannot wait to dance with you this June! Below is a breakdown of the details. meet the teachers
LAUREN FRODERMAN: Lauren has been dancing since the age of 3 and since then has trained in jazz, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, tap, and hip hop. She has always been a well-rounded dancer and because of this went on to win the seventh season of the Fox television show, So You Think You Can Dance. She has also danced for people such as the Radio City Rockette's, Big Time Rush, Blake McGrath, and others. Appearing in television performances, music videos, and live shows, she continues to reach for the stars and learn and do as much as possible. Probably her greatest accomplishment since the end of the So You Think You Can Dance show and tour has been becoming the first dance athlete for Gatorade and being the female dance athlete for the G Series Fit line. Lauren has worked hard her whole life and will keep working hard to accomplish her dreams.
AUDRA BRYANT: Audra Bryant is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BFA in Musical Theatre. While growing up in Wichita, Kansas, Audra’s love for for Ballet and classical voice eventually transitioned into a love for Fosse, Cole Porter, and all things musical theatre once she hit middle school. Audra's performance career has been diverse, playing roles such as Ivy Smith in On the Town, and had approximately fourteen buckets of “blood” dumped on her in Carrie the Musical (Carrie White). She worked various summers for the Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma as Dance Captain/Ensemble and as the Associate Choreographer for their production of Mary Poppins. Audra most recently performed in the Carbonell nominated production of Will Rogers Follies at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Some of the gifted artists she has the privilege to associate with are Beth Level, Emily Skinner, Richard J. Hinds, David Scotchford, Jeff Blumenkrantz, and Bartram & Hill. Audra also works as a choreographer in NY and has had her work showcased at the New York Jazz Choreography Festival (presented by JCE, Inc.). She teaches all styles and levels for a variety studios throughout New York and the surrounding areas through Liberate Artists and has taught alongside SYTYCD's Comfort Fedoke and Dance Moms Payton Ackerman. She is inspired through the opportunity to watch passion for the arts grow in youth.
JULIE CARTER: Julie Carter, originally from Alabama, is a graduate of Point Park University with a B.A. in Dance with a Jazz Concentration. She trained at Alabama Ballet and has traveled to numerous countries as a dancer for Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines and Spirit Productions. She has worked alongside artists such as Jason Parsons, Doug Caldwell, Elizabeth Parkinson (Chorus Line), Kathryn Murphy (Moving Out), Kat Wildish, Billy Griffin, and has performed works by Luam, Mike Esperanza, Buglisi Dance Theater, Merce Cunningham, Katie Rose McLaughlin (Designated Movement), among others. Julie has taught masterclasses for Dance Teachers Club of Boston, Sacred Heart University, national dance conventions, and is a frequent Guest Artist at Steps On Broadway and The School at Steps. Julie is a Traveling Road Artist for Liberate Artists, teaching in-house conventions across the country with some of the industry’s finest, including SYTYCD’s Lauren Froderman and Comfort Fedoke. Most currently, she is a company member of NYC-based Dance Into Deliverance and can be seen in the television series, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, on Amazon Prime.
ERIC LEHN: New York native, Eric Lehn, received a BFA in Dance performance from Towson University. He also was a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts Advocates. Eric was fortunate enough to work with artist such as Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell, Runqiao Du, Tim Veach and Vincent Thomas. He has had the privilege to perform works choreographed by Alvin Ailey, Robert Battle, Troy Powell, Kevin Iega Jeff and Frank Chaves. He has received training from the ABT Collegiate program, the Joffrey Ballet School and was a summer apprentice with River North Dance Chicago. Eric is currently a member of Rasta Thomas’ Bad Boys of Ballet which feature artists including Jourdan Epstein from So You Think You Can Dance.
